About Glucosamine Amino sugar,Monosaccharide derivative, Anti-inflammatory,Antiarthritic. Mechanism of Action of Glucosamine It stimulates cartilage cells to produce glucosaminoglycans and proteoglycans which are the building blocks of cartilage. This stops the progression of OA (osteoarthritis) and possibly reverses the process. It also has anti-inflammatory properties by its inhibition of proteolytic enzymes. Indications for Glucosamine 1. Osteo arthritis. 2. Rheumatoid arthritis Typical Dosage for Glucosamine Oral- Adult:1200mg /day
