About Bupropion Norepinephrine and dopamine reuptake inhibitor,nicotinic antagonist, aminoketone derivative, Atypical antidepressant, Smoking Cessation Aid. Mechanism of Action of Bupropion Bupropion blocks the re-uptake of neurotransmitter Dopamine and Noradrenaline from the synapse in to the presynaptic nerve terminal in the CNS. It has only a less activity in blocking the reuptake of Serotonin. Bupropion potentiates the noradrenergic and Dopaminergic activity and produces antidepressant activity.
