Medicine Description
Ibuflex tablet contains a combination of 2 active ingredients, methocarbamol& Ibuprofen. Methocarbamol is centrally acting skeletal muscle relaxant. Its mechanism of action is due to general depressant effect on the CNS. Ibuprofen, belonging to propionic acid derivative, is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug which has anti-inflammatory, analgesic & antipyretic actions. It inhibits cyclooxygenase enzyme activity & thus inhibits prostaglandin synthesis. Ibuflex, with this combination of methocarbamol& ibuprofen, provides relief of spasm & pain superior to that when either drug is used alone. Indications A- Treatment of acute, painful muscle spasm due to musculoskeletal conditions such as: 1- Low back pain, 2- Myositis, 3- Soft tissue disorders sprains or strains, 4- Torticollis, 5- Prolapsed intervertebral disc, 6- Sciatica.
