About Oxiconazole Imidazole derivative, Antifungal. Mechanism of Action of Oxiconazole Oxiconazole is fungicidal or fungistatic depending on concentrations. It inhibits the conversion of Lanosterol to 14 demethyl Lanosterol by inhibiting the cytochromeP450 enzyme 14 alpha demethylase and impair ergosterol synthesis. This will alter cellular membrane integrity of fungus. Indications for Oxiconazole 1. Tinea corporis (ring worm of the body) 2. Tinea cruris (ring worm of the groin and jock itch) 3. Pityriasis versicolor 4. Tinea pedis
